The fog effect, as well as the death effect of the character in the game on each path, increases the appeal of the game to the players.
Adguard 1 5 3. In terms of sound, the game has no background music, only the loud and heavy footsteps of the protagonist, sometimes you can hear the rain, the crickets, the wind chime and cold language crows scream … bring you chills to every moment. Quietness in the game is also high for bringing artistic value and make a difference that no game titles have.

- To be kept at an arms length can be isolating. Telling a tale through a striking array of wide shots captures not only a stillness but a frank loneliness. Ben Sharrock keeps his audience at a remove to simulate the very dislocation his subjects endure. The sparse Scotch surroundings immortalised here dwarf the migrant characters stranded on this island. Desolation plays waiting room for these lost souls as they sit between crises and uncertainty. They have fled but never arrived. In a perpetual state of statelessness. Limbo reminds me of a bleak nativity scene - all it’s ornate elements adorned with a sprinkling of snow and the tiny glowing light of fireplaces and dim lamps providing meagre warmth and comfort to those longing for true shelter. There’s a tranquility to Limbo, a quiet elegance, which calmly soothes by suggesting any semblance of refuge found by any of the world’s lost souls is in the humanity of those equally adrift.
- and just like that we have a new instant favourite on our hands folks!! i honestly feel like i could talk for hours about how perfect every single element of this film is to me. from the framing to the score to the use of aspect ratio to omar's blue coat, it's all just so fantastically done and has so much tenderness and heart to it. there are moments that are so genuinely funny and brought a huge smile to my face but there are also a handful of deeply devastating moments here that completely caught me off guard and blew me away. it's certainly one of those quietly powerful types that you instantly know will stay with you for a long time after the credits roll.. it's just a truly beautiful film and i really can't recommend it enough!
- Lord,
I too could see the glimpses of heaven through this movie.. - yorgos lanthimos meets wes anderson and i thoroughly adored every minute of it !!!! it’s surprisingly humorous but exceedingly heartbreaking at the same time, limbo is one of those quietly powerful movies that says everything it needs to say without actually having to say anything at all - peak filmmaking at its finest. it completely and utterly blew me away. this is truly something special.
- Refugees coming to Scotland and looking for asylum. Limbo primarily focuses on Omar, a musician who is chasing his dreams but also riddled with the guilt of running from Syrian wars and not making his family proud. The premise is strong and the performance by Amir El-Masry as Omar is excellent. What hurts the movie, and ultimately makes it fail, is the frustrating direction from Ben Sharrock and the tonal roller coaster Limbo goes in.At times it feels like a Napoleon Dynamite knockoff, at times a Terrence Malick nature-metaphor film and at times a horror movie (though to give some credit, when this movie gets weird and feels like a horror is when I liked it the most).Everything…
- this one was definitely better than i ever expected it to be. the direction was definitely more impressive than i’d ever expected, not actually having much of an expectation at all.i’d definitely say add this to the watch lists, particularly for it’s important commentary on Western countries’ immoral handling of our current refugee crisis.….asylum seekers and the way they are treated by Western countries that had supposedly offered them a ray of life, but for them only to realise the harsh realities of the prejudices they will face within a system which offers them a false protection, one that they only then throw back in their faces, patronising them and turning them into aliens as though they…
- This is such a quiet movie, yet it still demands your attention in a way that isn’t seen very often. It’s a very simple movie; an eccentric and unorthodox look into the refugee experience while waiting for asylum. The fact that’s it’s simple works heavily in its favor, and gives a much more accurate portrayal than it otherwise would have as most of these men live a very simple life while being forced to do nothing but wait. What I really love about this is how well it balances it’s drama and it’s deadpan comedy. I found myself laughing constantly while also being absolutely blown away by the direction and performances during some of the more intimate scenes. The cinematography…
- film of the year for me so far hands down ?
- Limbo is a sometimes sad, sometimes whimsical comedy about refugees who've been sent to a Scottish island to await further disposition. Director Ben Sharrock appreciates the preposterousness of their situation while refusing to stereotype. He constructs his story around Omar (Amir El-Masry), a Syrian refugee who dreams he'll be granted political asylum to allow him to emigrate to London. The film strikes some unusual notes as it observers its characters' agonizingly thwarted lives. The movie features some memorable supporting characters, most notably the strangely optimistic Afghani (Vikash Bhai), and Sharrock never takes the plight of the refugees lightly.
- The positive reviewers on letterboxd must not have seen ..And Breathe Normally which presents much of the same material in a more substantial and entertaining manner. This may be because the director has an affinity for the material and the locale.
Ben Sharrock obviously has some Scottish connections but certainly not in the remote Hebrides and placing his story here seems odd. On the Q&A Ola Orebiyi enthuses about the opportunity to book a job through the lockdown period and whilst the barren and vacant landscape of the North of Scotland sets the right mood of hopeless emptiness the story could have been expanded more fully in a more relatable location.Sanjeev Kohli appears as, essentially a more authentic version… - 77/100******************************************************
Half of LIMBO is expressionless comedy in tragedy where the absence of expressions is another kind of tragedy and half of LIMBO is a frightful fun where presence of funny humor is another kind of fright and fierce. And as a whole LIMBO is the story of these souls who, though not condemned to punishment, but still are deprived of the joy of eternal existence with God in heaven, It's the mating point— the border place between heaven and hell! Omar and his homies are somewhat constrained to live under strict supervision, cruel taunts and awful bullies of dwellers of the very place where they are trying to live— yes they are trying, even without knowing eventually they… - TIFF 2020 Film #16Reason for pick - premiseI knew I was going to love this film right off the top when it included Lanthimos style Dancing.Limbo is a gentle tale of a fictitious Scottish island where refugees must wait while their claims are evaluated. They also must attend classes on how to fit into Scottish society, which is the source of much of the humour. It’s challengingly slow, but photographically beautiful. It reminded me of the films of Nuri Bilge Ceylan. You’ll get the same payoff as those films if you just let it wash over you and enjoy the scenery. It’s a great mix of gentle humour combined with a real sense of humanity.
